In 2018, bassist extraordinaire Marcus Miller follows up Afrodeezia, his expansive exploration of music from the African diaspora, with a return to funk on his vibrant album Laid Black. Marcus brings the party with special guests including Trombone Shorty, Selah Sue, Kirk Whalum, Take 6 and Jonathan Butler. The album was nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.
